1st WORKSHOP: "WORLD CAFE" - The Experts are in the Room
Analysis of the challenges, strengths and weaknesses as cultural organisations face their competitors 

Training session:How to react - how to be creative and draw solutions from the first two keynote speeches. Exercise in groups of 8.


The format: Each table names a delegate who will remain at the table for the whole session. The first questions will be  flashed on screen and all the tables debate, comment and scribble ideas. Then participants (except the nominated delegates who stay with their original table) switch tables to discuss question 2, moving again to discuss question 3. Once the three questions have been discussed, each delegate will give his table's solutions and ideas and they will be simultaneously flashed up on to the screen. This fruitful exercise facilitates exchanging and listening of participants' expertise with one another.

In the vast Salle des Gens d'Arme at the Conciergerie, the artist and choreographer, Christian Rizzo, has created a hanging of contemporary art. The choice of works, chosen in collaboration with Bernard Blistène, Artistic Director of the New Festival at the Pompidou Centre, brings together in this impressive cultural venue some exceptional pieces, including some so far unseen works from some of the biggest names in contemporary art today. Maurizio Cattelan, Felix Gonzales-Torres, Xavier Veilhan and Valérie Belin are represented by some major works which create a passionate panorama of current creation around the principal theme, that of The Body.
